The Ritz Theater

The Ritz Theater

Sheffield is home to The Ritz Theater, a 1920's silent movie house that has been restored to its original grandeur. Located at 103 W. 3rd Street, Sheffield, The Ritz is now home to the Center Stage Community Theater. Open for events or by appointment, phone (256) 381-8370.

Sheffield Residential Historic District

Sheffield homeowners take great pride in the appearance of their historic homes. Take a stroll into the past as you walk by these Colonial Revival and Late Gothic Revival homes. During the Holiday Season join our "Holiday Tour of Homes" to see the lavish decorations of these magnificent historic homes.

Village One

Village One is one of Sheffield's most unique neighborhoods. Built in 1918 by the U.S. Government to house personnel at nearby Nitrate Plant #1, Village One consists of 85 bungalows, a school house, and officers barracks. Each bungalow still bears the red tile roof and stucco exterior appearance of the past. The street layout, which is in the shape of the "Liberty Bell" really sets this neighborhood apart from others. Individual homeowners now own and maintain these extraordinary homes.

Pickwick Lake

Sheffield is located on the beautiful banks of Pickwick Lake along the Tennessee River. Enjoy the beauty of the Tennessee River from Sheffield's own Riverfront Park. The park provides boat launches, fishing pier, docking facilities, walking trails, and a playground that is handicap accessible for all children to enjoy. In the past Cabela's Crappie USA Qualifying Tournament and Kids Fishing Rodeo have been held at the park
