Village One
Village One is one of Sheffield's most unique neighborhoods.
Built in 1918 by the U.S. Government to house personnel at nearby
Nitrate Plant #1, Village One consists of 85 bungalows, a school
house, and officers barracks. Each bungalow still bears the red
tile roof and stucco exterior appearance of the past. The street
layout, which is in the shape of the "Liberty Bell"
really sets this neighborhood apart from others. Individual homeowners
now own and maintain these extraordinary homes.
